Jason Momoa is a balding wimp in real life in Rocket Mortgage's Super Bowl ad

'Aquaman' actor reveals what he's really like when he kicks back at home in Big Game spot from Highdive

Before game day, Quicken Loans’ Rocket Mortgage dropped news that “Aquaman”  star Jason Momoa would appear in its Super Bowl ad. While onscreen we’ve seen him as a superhero, a warrior and an outlaw, in the teaser, he promised the Big Game commercial would reveal a side of him we’ve never seen before.

Now, we know what that means: in real life, Jason Momoa is a wimp.

The new spot from agency HighDive shows the actor stepping into his home, kicking off his shoes and removing other “articles” in order to get “comfortable.” Those include his massive biceps (which he strips off to reveal a pair of spaghetti arms), ripped pecs and abs (to uncover his lanky torso) and the thick mane covering his balding pate, which he sheds before sitting down to pick away at his lap steel guitar.

“Home is where you feel the most comfortable, and Rocket Mortgage helps you feel comfortable financing that home,” a voiceover says.

The final scene depicts Momoa at his weight bench, struggling under a plate-less barbell rod and begging his better half Lisa Bonet to take it before he’s crushed by its load.

“It’s always fun to see what somebody is like when they’re at home,” Casey Hurbis, CMO at Quicken Loans told AdAge. The idea ties into the company’s mission to “put Americans in homes.”
