Is it just us or is Robert de Niro becoming Hollywood pitchman of the moment?
The "Goodfellas" and "Meet the Parents" actor recently appeared in a U.K. ad for baked goods brand Warburtons, and here he pops up again in a pan-European campaign for Kia. In a way, it's a no-brainer for agency Innocean to have cast him; Kia's new range of electric crossover vehicles is called the "e-Niro."
Some of the ads, directed by Hungry Man's Bryan Buckley, work better than others, like the spot above, in which he dresses as a hipster, having seen that the script called for a "trendy version of the Niro." There's another ad, below, where he gets so comfortable in the car that he orders a pizza delivery there.
The various executions also explain some of the benefits of the e-Niro range, which was unveiled at the Paris Motor Show—such as its 455-kilometre electric driving range, infotainment features, energy harvesting technologies and crossover design.
