A new outdoor campaign for KitchenAid mixers in Toronto has an eye-catching ruse to get noticed on the city's skyline.
In a billboard campaign on Toronto’s largest expressway, the brand is paying tribute to a local design icon; the CN Tower, one of the tallest free-standing structures in the world. The billboard uses technology to mimic the ever-changing colors of the CN Tower’s lights. As the lights on the tower shift, so do the colors of the stand mixer.
The campaign, by Zulu Alpha Kilo, is promoting the personalization options available with KitchenAid stand mixers -- the company offers 33 stand mixer colors to choose from. A camera that detects the color of the CN Tower and converts it into an XML feed. An algorithm then uses this information to provide trafficking instructions to Astral’s digital board instructing it to match the color of the tower with one of KitchenAid’s colors.
The agency worked with production partner Bounce Studio, while media was handled by Cossette.
