This touching French retail ad explores what happens when an older sibling leaves home
Fred & Farid Paris and director Géraldine Nakache create another spot about family life for La Redoute
Editor's Pick
French e-commerce and catalog retailer La Redoute and agency Fred & Farid Paris made a charming storytelling debut in 2020 with the tale of a teenager coming to terms with her stepmom. Now, they're back with another tale exploring the dynamics of family life -- what happens when an older sibling leaves home.
"Two Brothers" tells the tale of an older brother, preparing to go to college, and his younger sibling who clearly adores him, even if he likes to tease and annoy him. His departure is bittersweet, but in order to soften the blow, the older boy has secretly been redesigning his bedroom with furnishings picked out from La Redoute for his brother (earlier in the tale, the little boy says he prefers his brother's room to his own.) The parents film the younger boy's reaction for his brother to watch on his journey; it's a touching moment.
Once again, the film is directed by the French director and actor Géraldine Nakache. It's running on French TV, as well as online.
