Comedian Jack Whitehall and his dad go on a subtly hilarious Land Rover road trip in this brand film
The actor and his dad continue their double act in campaign by Spark44

British comedian and actor Jack Whitehall has made something of a career out of a double act with his father Michael, including in the Netflix comedy documentary series "Jack Whitehall: Travels With My Father."
Now, the pair reprise this partnership in a subtly funny new campaign for Land Rover, created by agency Spark 44, to promote its Advanced Tow Assist feature. The spot, running across Land Rover’s global social channels, sees them driving down a narrow causeway to view a lighthouse, in a Land Rover Discovery towing an Airstream trailer.
Once they get there, Whitehall senior announces that the tide's coming in and they need to reverse, and, after a lot of grumbling, Jack takes the wheel. The verbal sparring between the pair is always a joy to watch ("Don't shout at me - I'm not a dog!" whines Whitehall at one point) and the spot does a good job of communicating the vehicle's benefits as well. Leo McCrea at Feel Films was the director.
Matt Statham and Chris McDonald, global creative directors at Spark44, comment in a statement: “When you get into the nitty gritty of the amazing technology inside these vehicles you can easily end up with films that are a bit dry and instructional. So, we set out to create something altogether more watchable. We decided on a good dose of jeopardy and a comedy angle. Jack and his father Michael were the first people that popped into our heads. Their brand of humour just flowed, which helps to humanise the tech and make it more accessible.”
