Jason Momoa and Zooey Deschanel join a 'plastic service announcement' to end water bottle pollution

The specter of plastic pollution looms large in the minds of environmentally aware consumers, especially health-conscious young people who grew up drinking water out of plastic bottles. Increasingly, brands like SodaStream are offering up alternatives, complete with star-studded ad campaigns. Now, sustainable company incubator Lonely Whale has partnered with conservancy Point Break Foundation and agency Young Hero to release this "Plastic Service Announcement,” part of their “Question How You Hydrate” campaign. It features a slew of celebs poking fun at plastic water bottles and relaying sobering facts about plastic pollution. Zooey Deschanel spoofs a ‘90s infomercial in neon sunglasses, introducing an amazing new concept: water in single-use bottles! It doesn’t just come out of the tap! Then actors including Adrian Grenier, Aidan Gallagher, Holly Frazier and Nia Sioux and musician Diplo get more serious about the issue, sharing statistics and pledging to never use plastic bottles to drink water. Later, Jason Momoa shows up to smack a water bottle right out of a guy’s mouth. He takes a shiner for it, but both fighters end up agreeing it was worth it. As part of the campaign, a pop-up Museum of Plastic is opening in New York City, open for a limited time on Broadway in Soho.
