Loop launches stylish, high-energy brand campaign for its noise-filtering earplugs

PDA crafts ads themed ‘Shut up noise, turn up sound’ to promote three existing products plus a new one

When an ad begins with someone chewing from the POV of inside their mouth, you know you’re in for a good time. That’s what PDA’s new campaign for Loop earplugs delivers—a rollicking celebration of sound over noise, delivered in a pair of stylish 30-second spots.

This is the first brand campaign for the Belgium-based DTC brand, which is repositioning earplugs as “earwear”—fashion accessories that provide functional benefits, much as sunglasses do for your eyes.

Both spots (there is also a :60 that merges them together) distinguish sound from noise, celebrating one while vilifying the other. Below is the first spot, in which a subway rider looks to block out all aural distractions—except the hot goss her friend has to share.

 

The campaign promotes Loop’s revamped core products—Quiet, Engage, and Experience—as well as the debut of Switch, a new product. 

“Sound shapes our lives, and we needed a category-leading brand positioning for Loop,” said Natalie Lefever, global head of brand for Loop. “We leaned into a clear insight about our consumer—so much of what we love is loud! Loop’s new campaign empowers people to choose how they hear the world, to confidently do all the loud activities they love—while protecting their hearing.”

Below is the second spot, set in a apartment complex, where various shenanigans are preventing a couple from sleeping.

 

“They not only make beautiful, well-engineered products, they’re pretty much establishing the category of everyday hearing protection,” said David Yankelewitz, PDA’s co-founder and executive creative director. “We’re partiers and fitness people ourselves, so we totally support their mission to elevate earplugs into fashionable earwear. We’re super stoked to be helping them blow up as a brand.”

“We’re proud of the lower funnel digital performance ads we’ve been doing so far, but this is our first big brand campaign,” said Maarten Bodewes, Loop’s co-founder. “We’re especially excited to expand our awareness in the United States.”

The campaign includes digital media placements across the U.S. and U.K. on Meta, Google, YouTube and connected TV. There will also be wild postings in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, and digital OOH in New York and London. See some of those executions below.
