In a brilliant cross-promotional move, Warby Parker has teamed up with Warner Brothers and Legendary Pictures to launch a limited edition collection inspired by the upcoming "Man of Steel" film, director Zack Snyder's new take on the Superman tale. The hero, of course, is famous for hiding behind his specs as Clark Kent, when not sporting the spandex and cape.

Starting on May 21st, the online eye-tailer will offer two new frames: "Chamberlain" and "Percey," the former described as "bold," the latter "bookish," and both featuring "graphic pops of color at the temple arm," according to the company's release.

The frames will cost $95 apiece, and, in another fitting move, $15 from each sold pair will be donated to 826NYC, the nonprofit founded by author Dave Eggers. Dedicated to supporting the writing skills of kids, it too has its own air of mystery, located in a secret lair at Brooklyn Superhero Supply Co., a shop that sells capes, X-ray glasses, spy kits and other stealthy goods. The $15 donation is on top of Warby Parker's ongoing practice of giving a pair of frames to someone in need, for each one purchased.

Warby Parker hasn't revealed the designs just yet, but shoppers can sign up on the teaser site for the big reveal, which, we're hoping, will feature the movie's star Henry Cavill as specs model.
