ALF—the lead character from the TV show of the same name—is returning to TV in new spots by Maximum Effort that show him interacting with brands that didn't exist when the show ran from 1986 to 1990.

Coined “Maximum Moments,” the sponsored content videos show how the new Maximum Effort Channel is blurring the lines between shows and sponsorship. The ads that will run during episodes of “ALF” feature the titular Alien Life Form promoting Ring, Fubo, Hims, Mint Mobile—partly owned by Maximum Effort’s Ryan Reynolds—and software company MNTN, which acquired Maximum Effort in 2021.

“Before you get up for that final snack, I want you to know I’ll be right back,” ALF says during a “Maximum Moment” ad for Ring.

In the spot, ALF—who infamously loves to eat cats—attempts to warn an all-grown-up Eric Tanner about a neighborhood cat playing with the doorbell. Tanner refuses to listen, despite ALF being able to see the cat through the house’s Ring camera.

Production company Really Original produced the ads.

“From our whisper content breaks and now with ‘Maximum Moments,’ the Maximum Effort Channel has quickly redefined how brands can sponsor content,” said David Gandler, Fubo co-founder and CEO, in a statement. “We were so fortunate to bring ALF back with Paul Fusco reprising his iconic role, and thrilled he could star in a spot for Fubo.”

On July 29, a marathon of “ALF” episodes will air alongside the channel’s original “Podcats: The Pawdcast.” Curated by Reynolds and Maximum Effort in partnership with Fubo, the channel is available on Amazon Freevee, Fubo, LG Channels, Plex, Sling Freestream, Tubi, VIDAA, VIZIO Watchfree+ and Xumo Play.
