McDonald's McDelivery ads turn fast food moments into movie scenes
Leo Burnett created witty idents for movies on ITV

McDonald's is turning ordinary fast food moments into mini Hollywood epics in a new campaign for McDelivery in the U.K.
The campaign is part of the brand's movie sponsorship on broadcaster ITV. Agency Leo Burnett created a set of six 10-second idents themed around different genres, including a Western, romance, horror, psychological thriller, heist and a dramatic weepie. The act of grabbing someone's fries, swiping the last chicken nugget or choosing what to have for takeout are each given a witty cinema-themed spin.
“Unlike other foods we eat while watching movies, McDelivery comes with its own unique set of cravings and rituals," said Andrew Long, creative director, Leo Burnett London, in a statement. In this set of idents, each of those relatable truths is brought to life in the form of mini movies from a variety of film genres. The result is a whistle stop tour of cinema that hopefully reminds everyone watching at home, that there’s nothing quite like a McDelivery with a movie.”
It's not the first time the brand has gone Hollywood with its idents. A prevous campaign promoting its delivery service alongside Uber Eats saw a McDelivery courier stepping into iconic film scenes.
Matthew Swanson at Bold directed the idents, which are running around movies on ITV 2,3 and 4.
