McDonald's brings back the Travis Scott action figure for a tour of his favorite meal
A spot from Wieden+Kennedy New York gives the 'Rodeo' album cover a digital update
Editor's Pick
The cover of Travis Scott’s 2015 album “Rodeo” was graced with an image of an action figure, an uncanny replica of the musician, standing boldly astride a toy monster truck. Real-life versions of the posable rapper went on sale for $150 but can fetch over $2,000 on the resale market these days.
Now the Scott figurine is getting a digital update, in McDonald’s latest spot featuring the artist, the first celebrity to get his name on a menu item since Michael Jordan in 1992. The Travis Scott Meal will be available for $6 at the fast feeder from Sept. 8 to Oct. 4. And a tiny Scott takes viewers through a tour of the foods that come in the combo in work from Wieden+Kennedy New York and Psyop.
Scott himself is a fan of the brand and grew up eating at McD’s in Houston, so the meal is his favorite order: a Quarter Pounder with Cheese, bacon and lettuce, fries dipped in BBQ sauce and a Sprite. (Jordan also liked bacon and BBQ sauce on his burger. And action figure Scott is wearing Jordans.)
The spot makes its TV debut Tuesday night during Game 3 of the Game 3 of the Western Conference semifinals between the Houston Rockets and the Los Angeles Lakers.
