Being a dog mom makes me so happy I want to sing sometimes. Apparently, I’m not alone.

This week, pet care brand Freshpet launched a yearlong partnership with global pop star Meghan Trainor, who is a proud dog mom of four. Together with agency of record Terri & Sandy, Freshpet unveiled the partnership on National Pet Day with a 60-second music video debuting an original song written and recorded by Trainor called “I’m a Dog Mom.”

The video, directed by Prettybird’s Lauren Dunn and shot in Trainor’s visual style, highlights Trainor’s love of dogs and shows her dedication to feeding them real, healthy food.

“Meghan is a remarkable talent and we know she’s only going to continue to rise to new heights,” said Scott Morris, co-founder and president at Freshpet. “We were drawn to her confidence, her warm personality, and, of course, her love for her dogs. She is unapologetically obsessed with her dogs and their health and happiness, which makes her align perfectly with Freshpet and what we stand for.”

The campaign and partnership follow Trainor’s meteoric rise to fame after her single “All About That Bass” reached No. 1 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart and sold 11 million copies worldwide in 2014. To date, Trainor has released five studio albums and received various accolades, including the 2016 Grammy Award for Best New Artist.

The “I’m A Dog Mom” video will run in different versions across digital and social media channels including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and YouTube, as well as OTT streaming channels. Trainor will also appear in online and social media campaigns along with a personal appearance at Freshpet throughout the partnership.

There’s no denying that apart from the catchy beat, the lyrics to “I’m a dog mom” are relatable to dog lovers everywhere. “My baby gets the best, settle for nothing less,” Trainor sings.

Agreed.
