Adorable Mop Dog Stars in Dr Pepper's Newest Ad

A Hairy Stray Helps Relay Brand Tag to 'Always Be One of A Kind'

An adorable mop dog -- or Komondor, for you canine fans -- is the star of a Dr Pepper ad sporting the brand's fresh tagline, "Always Be One of A Kind."

The heartfelt spot features a mop dog's quest to fit in (although we're wondering why such a cuddly-looking critter would have any self-image issues). While roaming the streets alone, the stray stumbles upon a Dr Pepper driver who puts him in his truck. But right as he's about to drop him off at an animal shelter, he has a change of heart and - you guessed it - decides to keep the pup.

The campaign aims to put a more empowering twist on the brand's classic signature, "One of a Kind." The mop dog ad debuted during the first College Football Playoff National Championship Game. The next spot is set to release this summer, with additional work in the campaign to roll out throughout the year. In the future, the CFPC Game will be an important platform for Dr Pepper. While the brand has been a sponsor of college football for more than 20 years, in 2015 its involvement will expand to include a six-year contract as the official presenting sponsor of the College Football Championship trophy.
