Droga5 Unveils First-Ever Spotify Campaign
Quiet spots pay tribute to the power of song
Editor's Pick
Droga5, Spotify's new agency, pays tribute to the power of music with a new campaign that will air start airing Monday. The main film, "For Music," is slow-motion look at a concert goer's crowd-surfing adventure, while a voiceover tells you why a song is so important. Turns out, it's because it's bigger than us, and because "we were all conceived to a 4/4 beat." There is not a lot of music in the spots, and they don't even tell you what Spotify actually does, but they are all a personal and emotional looks at music's power.
Two shorter spots show what else Spotify is for -- for a middle-aged music lover remembering for lover during his commute, and for a set of crazy partiers who dance it up during a weeknight house party. The commercials were directed by Park Pictures' Seb Edwards.
This isn't the first time Droga5 has lent its creative chops to the music industry. The agency previously advertised streaming service Rhapsody with a collaboration with Jay-Z.
