British art charity the National Art Fund has launched a limited-run Facebook app that lets visitors track their gallery and museum visits via their smartphone and the Facebook Places check-in service.

Every time they check in at a new venue, users earn reward stamps, building their personal history of the art and museums and galleries they are enjoying. The more stamps they collect, the higher status they will reach, going from Dabbler, Enthusiast, Connoisseur, Guru, Master to the highest status of Grand Tourist. For each exhibition they visit, they can also unlock and download a work of art in the form of a digital souvenir postcard as a memento, and also share this with their Facebook friends. Users will also be automatically entered into a competition to win an 'Art Lover's Goody Bag', with the winner will be drawn at random at the end of August.

The app will be live between 1st - 31st August. It is available to download free from Facebook. Built by Clusta, it was devised by creative agency 101 and digital agency Hypernaked, as part of a campaign to relaunch the National Art Pass, a pass that gives art-lovers free access to galleries and art museums across the UK.
