A Tokyo 'Night Racing' Event Builds Hype Around Nike's Zoom Elite 8

Campaign Includes Ad and One Mile Race Held in Tokyo

Nike is encouraging Tokyo-based running enthusiasts to go "night racing" with a film and an event promoting the new Nike Zoom Elite 8 shoe. The ad, by Wieden & Kennedy Tokyo and film director Keisuke Hakomori, builds up the excitement around the idea with an ad that sees two runners preparing to battle it out head to head on an illuminated street track, in a vaguely renegade atmosphere more akin to late-night drag racing.

The ad is running on online media and Nike's social channels and on Sunday August 30, the campaign will culminate in a one-mile night racing event "Tokyo Fastest Mile" at Marunouchi.
