The world enters a dark place once more, in this harrowing trailer introducing "Gears of War 4," the fourth main installment of the franchise, produced out of The Coalition and published out of Microsoft Studios for Xbox One.
Created out of Twofifteen McCann and directed by Henry Hobson out of Furlined, the film is set at two points in the future. The first sees the original trilogy's main protagonist Marcus Fenix enjoying tranquil life with his family on the pastoral grounds of their home. His former fellow Cog soldier Anya is now his wife, and the two now have a son, JD, who leaps with glee into his father's big arms.
But the film then cuts to a darker time two decades-plus on, with JD, now a young man, pursued by a horrific new enemy on the family estate. The scene harkens back to the darker episodes faced by his own father in his younger years and depicts the "reborn nightmare" of the game, which hits the shelves this fall. The trailer debuted during the premier of "Fear The Walking Dead" last night on AMC.
