Nike highlights Megan Rapinoe in Women's World Cup victory spot

Inspirational black-and-white ad is titled 'Never Stop Winning'

Nike was quick to jump in and celebrate with an inspirational ad about female empowerment following the U.S. women's team's 2-0 victory over the Netherlands yesterday. 

The black-and-white spot, by Wieden & Kennedy, is titled “Never Stop Winning.” It starts with the USWNT's team chant, "Believe," and goes on to predict how the champions will empower future generations, with a female voiceover reciting lines such as “women will conquer more than just the soccer field" as it predicts women "breaking every glass ceiling...and having their faces carved on Mount Rushmore."

While it pictures the entire team, the language goes on to single out the Golden Boot-winning star player of the tournament whose political stance has also made headlines, predicting that: “A whole generation of girls and boys will go out and play and say things like ‘I want to be like Megan Rapinoe when I grow up.'”

Throughout, it sounds as if a player is reciting the chant to a crowd of fans, but the agency actually tapped a V.O. artist to perform it for the spot.
