The brand has renovated a community football field in his birthplace of Madeira, Portugal. It's located at the Funchal community center where Ronaldo spent his early childhood years and includes a goal with painted goalposts, designed by Portuguese artist AkaCorleone, depicting an illustrated timeline of Ronaldo’s career in 15 scenes.
As explained in an accompanying film by Wieden & Kennedy Amsterdam, the goal signifies a wider meaning; Ronaldo's commitment to setting personal goals on his journey to success. The film’s voiceover includes comments from former and current soccer players who have witnessed Ronaldo's determination throughout his career.
Nike is also honoring Ronaldo with a commemorative CR110 boot, which is being given to 110 rising stars in the primary countries where he has played: Portugal, England, Spain and Italy. It describes the shattered multicolor print as a "visual exploration of breaking records" and also signifies an anecdote from Ronaldo's childhood, when he kicked a ball accidentally through a neighbor's window. Details on the shoe include the color of Portugal's national flag, and a graphic interpretation of the date and time at which he first scored a national goal for Portugal.
