Swiss Post surprised pedestrians with a host of roaming, remote controlled parcels on wheels in a stunt to promote a new parcel collection service.

To avoid the (seemingly universal) tedium of collecting missed deliveries at the post office, Swiss Post has come up with a new system where you can scan a QR code printed on your collection note, then decide where and when to receive your consignment.

To advertise this, agency Jung von Matt Limmat let loose 30 parcels on wheels in the city of Lucerne in early September, filming people's reactions as they catch sight of the moving packages negotiating cobbed streets, escalators and more. Though they might seem slightly creepy, eventually the parcels opened up to reveal some pretty amazing gifts -- including flowers, socks, toys and even some fluffy handcuffs.
