Phyllis from 'The Office' is back as an impromptu wedding planner in Joann's latest crafting video
Springtime-themed webisode follows holiday work featuring the 'Office' star

Phyllis Smith, aka Phyllis from "The Office," is back in another comedic webisode for Joann, the crafting store.
Folllowing the retailer's holiday-themed set of spots, which showed her crocheting mittens while working from home, the new video is spring-themed, but still mindful of the pandemic: it sees Phyllis offering to help out the young couple next door with rescheduling their canceled wedding.
Once again the script and characterization are spot on—Phyllis notes that she made the couple some bedroom curtains, because they really needed them, and replies, "That's disgusting!" when they say they'll get married at the courthouse (she thought they said "outhouse.") She also nominates herself as the officiant, after interviewing herself in the mirror. DIY design expert Rebecca Propes joins Phyllis on her crafting journey which includes making a paper flower bouquet.
The campaign is created via agency Where Eagles Dare. “Many plans changed for people this past year, especially weddings that had to be canceled or put on hold due to the pandemic,” said Brian Franks, founder and executive creative director of Where Eagles Dare in a statement. “We thought a DIY micro-wedding was the perfect backdrop for Phyllis to spring into action and show all of her craftiness. We really doubled down on the visual storytelling aspect of Phyllis’ character in a continued effort to put more smiles on people's’ faces and get them excited about crafting this Spring.”
The new video is running on Joann's social channels and will be promoted by 15- and 30-second ads on Hulu and Discovery; the brand is planning further spots with Phyllis this year, themed around Halloween and holiday.
