Pro bono posters from R&R Partners touting a Vegas cop career pay direct homage to the art of comics king Frank Miller. The offbeat idea, says Lt. Charles Hank of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, "sprang from our study of recruitment ads from all over the country, which were virtually identical: settings with officers in tactical environments, or the placement of various diverse officers standing together, with headlines such as 'Join us.' Because of our need to hire a significant number of officers over the next several years, Metro needed something to brand our agency something that goes beyond the thrillseekers but captures the attention of the candidates with a desire to serve the community. From this we developed our heroic graphic novel campaign." Illustrations by
