QuickBooks pays tribute to production crews following Oscars broadcast controversy
Spot by TBWA/Chiat/Day goes behind the scenes of 'A Star Is Born'
Editor's Pick
QuickBooks has jumped on the (now resolved) controversy over production awards being cut from the Oscars broadcast with a campaign that pays tribute to those who work behind the scenes of Hollywood movies.
In an ad by TBWA/Chiat/Day, airing during Oscars week, the Intuit accounting brand highlights some of the production crew who worked on "A Star Is Born," pulling their individual names out of the credits list and pointing to their contribution. It goes on to remind us that the mainly self-employed and small business owners who make up 85% of the production crew of a typical movie are in fact its clients.
A 60-second version of the ad will play before screenings of "A Star is Born" in select theaters, while other versions will air online.
