I’m sure that pet parents who have indoor cameras have endless adorable moments in their phone gallery of their pets being funny, silly or mischievous. Often, those videos are the best source of dopamine when they hit social media timelines.

Ring’s latest campaign invites pet parents to share those videos online to raise half a million dollars for animal shelters. “Ring Pet Portraits,” created with production company Miniac launched last week (May 13) with a heartwarming short film featuring Drew Barrymore and her dog Douglas (Dougie).

In the film, Barrymore takes her dog to dinner and tells him that neither he nor Jeremy, her family’s bearded dragon, can participate in “Ring Pet Portraits” because they are nepo pets.

But the good news is, other pet parents can participate through June 14 by posting a pet videos or pictures from their Ring camera to Instagram or TikTok with the hashtag #RingPets. For each submission, Ring will pledge $10, up to $100,000, to the ASPCA (the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) and up to an additional $400,000 to local animal shelters across the U.S.

Pet parents who tag #contest in addition to #RingPets will be entered into a contest for one pet to appear in an upcoming Ring commercial.

Examples of viral pet videos (including the one of Grissom the dog, who wanted to play with his human’s coat hood) are a hilarious source of joy. Watch them below:
