We’ve all had a time when a family member or friend arrived a little too early for a get-together. In its new spot “Ready When You Aren’t,” Ritz highlights the crackers as the perfect hors d’oeuvre for any occasion.

Ritz partnered with VCCP London to create the amusing 30-second ad. 

The spot starts with a family and a husband pouring Ritz crackers into a bowl. Caught by surprise, the family members hear the door ring, rush into action, and swiftly clean the house at the lightning speed.

 

The guests finally enter the home, now squeaky clean, and are presented with a bowl of Ritz crackers.

“We’ve all been there—you’ve got friends coming over, and no matter how prepared you think you are, there’s always a last-minute panic before the bell goes,” said Jim Capp, creative director at VCCP London. “It’s great to see such an iconic brand like Ritz back on our screens with a bit of truthful humor.”

The spot, directed by the Bobbsey Twins, is designed to focus on young families and millennials and for its audiences to have a real-life human connection with the spot because it is common to clean up at the last minute when guests arrive.

The “Ready When You Aren’t” campaign will run in the U.K. through Nov. 7 across media outlets from out-of-home to paid social and PR channels. See some of the OOH work below.
