The Royal Wedding proved fertile ground for advertisers this weekend -- and yet another opportunity for Ikea to show that when it comes to simple-but-witty social posts around topical events, it's one of the best.
ACNE and the Ikea Creative Hub (following up recent posts for Star Wars Day) posted the first image pre-wedding--possibly for all those women who turned up to Windsor carrying signs saying "I wanna marry Harry." It posted a simple photo of its $49 "Harry" dining chair alongside the caption, "Don't worry, Harry is still available."
Post-wedding it followed it up with a suggestion for what to do with all that leftover wedding cake for 600 guests -- its $5.00 Pruta plastic storage box. (Given that the Queen is supposedly a tupperware fan, we're not at all sure the royal couple won't take them up on this.)
