It seems Ryan Reynolds wants to be like the big guys—big wireless, that is. To promote his company Mint Mobile, he has decided to follow in the footsteps of large telecoms by jumping on the “political lobbying” platform. Since the big companies have historically poured plenty of dollars in political lobbying, he decided his company should back a politician too. In Mint Mobile’s case, however, he's donating only 15 bucks to a mayor who happens to be a dog—Mayor Max of Idyllwild, California

Reynolds announces his donation in a new social ad, meant to highlight that Mint Mobile would rather invest in its customers—it's now upgrading all of their data plans for free.

The spot was created out of Reynolds’ company Maximum Effort and directed by Patrick Jones.
