Ibis : Sleep Art
Your sleep, translated.
Editor's Pick
For hotels, making sure guests get a good night sleep is a priority. But Ibis Hotels also wants to make its customers' sleep into art.
The chain teamed up with ACNE production and BETC Paris for the "Sleep Art" project, in which robots will make paintings based on guests' sleep data. It will equip special beds in Ibis hotels in Paris (from 8-23 October), Berlin (October 6 - November11) & London (November 14-23) with ACNE's Dreambox Technology. This uses sensors that capture a person's sleep data, such as temperature, movement and sound, and translate it into a unique painting by a robot. The painting uses traditional paintbrushes, acrylic paints and canvas. Ibis Facebook fans will have to enter a drawing to win a night on one of the beds. The project will finish in November with an online gallery of the artworks, while guests will get an original to take home.
