Like many families this year, Snoop Dogg is keeping it simple for the holidays, staying home with the family and “enjoying the small meaningful things,” as we see in a new global push from Sodastream, what the brand says is its biggest to date.
A new spot sees the rap legend chilling at home, reveling in the simple pleasures of his abode. He bakes a lot (gingerbread cookies, that is), sits down for a holiday meal with his loved ones (including a pair of Mini-Mes that look an awful lot like him) and shares a sip of sparkling water from his SodaStream with his nearly-extinct turtle friend.
The point is that enjoying “small things”—like using a SodaStream—can go a long way in helping to save the planet.
The spot is latest from the brand to illustrate how SodasStream lets consumers enjoy bubbles at home without contributing to pollution from single-use plastic. Earlier this year during the Super Bowl, the brand went much bigger—all the way to outer space—in a spot from Goodby Silverstein & Partners directed by Hungry Man's Bryan Buckley, in first Big Game outing under new parent PepsiCo.
Director Jake Szymanski, known for his work for Funny or Die and “Saturday Night Live” as well as films like “Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates” and “The Package” was behind the camera, and the brand worked with independent creative director Alon Seifert on the creative.
“At SodaStream we always encourage people to make a positive change,” said SodaStream Global CMO Karin Schifter Maor in a statement. “This year we really went all in to deliver a campaign everyone can relate to, a campaign on what’s important. SodaStream is the ultimate small change to reduce single-use plastic waste, and Snoop Dogg is a great partner to help widely spread this message in a fun way.”
