Taco Bell to debut a TikTok musical starring Dolly Parton and Doja Cat
The satirical tale celebrates the return of the chain's Mexican Pizza

Editor's Pick
One of this year’s starriest musicals is passing up the Big Apple and going straight for the Big Taco—Taco Bell’s TikTok account. Premiering there this month is “Mexican Pizza: The Musical,” starring Dolly Parton and Doja Cat.
In a viral TikTok that has now been removed, Doja Cat originally announced the return of the fan-favorite menu item onstage at one of her concerts. The performer has been a consistent promoter for the fast food chain on the social app and returns this month in perhaps its largest social marketing effort to date.

Doja Cat will be joined by legendary singer Dolly Parton in the satirical musical about the trials of fans desperate to get Taco Bell’s Mexican Pizza back on the menu. “Mexican Pizza: The Musical” was written by “Obi-Wan Kenobi” writer Hannah Friedman with original music by Grammy-winning songwriters Abigail Barlow and Emily Bear.
“Mexican Pizza: The Musical” will premiere on TikTok May 26 at 8pm ET, just after the Mexican Pizza’s return to restaurants on May 19. The campaign will also feature TikTok challenges for fans leading up to the event as well.
