We've admired Icelandair's "Iceland Stopover" campaign for some time, as we've seen the airline put on an immersive play in mid-air, lay on a "buddy" to show you 'round town and even customize a special celebration for you, all to encourage you to enjoy a layover in the country.

The airline's latest ruse is in celebration of Iceland's qualification for the World Cup, the smallest nation ever to do so (its soccer team certainly punches above its weight, having defeated England in the Euro 2016 championships despite having no professional clubs in the country).

To mark this, it's offering a series of 90-minute experiences (the length of a soccer game) that include attending a national match, relaxing in a geothermal pool, a training masterclass at the country's soccer academy and hiking with a female soccer star.

The experiences are all available from May 2018 to the end of June 2018 for no extra cost than a flight, and can be booked through the airline's website.
