Do You Want Tough Love or Soft Love From Your Cough Candy?

'Scrubs' Actor John McGinley Plays Two Alter Egos

Halls highlights two different flavors of cough candy -- Mentho-lyptus Halls and Honey Halls -- by personifying them as "Tough Love" and "Soft Love" in a humorous new campaign.

The aim is to cater to different types of people when they're sick -- those who want to be pampered versus those who want a no-nonense approach. A TV spot and longer online ad, created by Wieden & Kennedy London and directed by Biscuit's Jeff Low, sees "Scrubs" actor John McGinley play the two alter egos -- Tough Love is a redneck-type hard nut with a fierce dog who punches walls, while Soft Love has flowing blond locks, wears a cream cable knit sweater and has a basket full of cute puppies.

Additional films will live online, while Halls aims to serve up the videos to those who are actually sick using "flu tracker" data.
