All Mariah Carey wants for Christmas is a pack of potato chips (apparently)
AMV BBDO debuts festive U.K. spot for Walkers' Crisps, directed by music video pro Joseph Kahn
Editor's Pick
Mariah Carey reprises her mega-hit "All I Want for Christmas" in a festive spot from the Frito Lay-owned potato chip brand Walkers. And while in her pop holiday classic she sings about only wanting "you," it seems there's something else more important on her wish list—a pack of the brand's crisps.
The ad, by AMV BBDO, sees the singer filming a video of her song. But during a break, she lives up to her diva reputation by getting into a tussle with an elf over a pack of Walkers "Pigs in Blankets"-flavor chips. The 60-second spot was directed by music video director, Joseph Kahn, who has worked previously with Carey, as well the likes of Britney Spears and Lady Gaga. It launched on Twitter over the weekend and made its TV debut during the "X-Factor" finale.
As well as the ad, Carey will be appearing on promotional packs of Walkers up until Christmas, alongside a promotion that gives consumers the chance to win all they want for Christmas. People will have the chance to win prizes every hour, including game consoles, designer headphones, cash and festive socks.
