As senators review the FBI report on sexual assault allegations against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, more than 1,200 lawyers signed a letter asserting that the 53-year-old judge doesn’t have the right temperament for a lifetime appointment to the court. Many of the wild antics attributed to Kavanaugh involve heavy drinking, and his impassioned defense of his alcohol intake has spawned a bumper crop of memes.

But one group isn’t happy about being dragged into this conflict: beer drinkers. A collective of anonymous creatives “who like beer, consensually” created posters encouraging voters to call their senators to oppose Kavanaugh’s nomination.

“Tell them that the real problem is not beer. It’s him,” the posters read. They’re available in multiple colors at, and a number have already been hung in locations that sell beer.

Whether it works depends on whether there is enough pressure from voters, but some senators are at least listening. As of Thursday morning, staffers for North Dakota Democratic Senator Heidi Heitkamp had resorted to tallying calls for and against Kavanaugh, so busy are the phone lines.
