New campaign spreads Virginia's X-mas spirit to kids around the country

Macy's and JWT contributed to the pop culture that surrounds Christmas when in 2009 they launched "Yes Virginia," an award-winning animated special produced out of The Ebeling Group that illustrated the tale of a young girl who wrote to The New York Sun wondering if there really was a Santa Claus. The paper's editor Francis P. Church responded to her with a moving piece about the importance of believing. The retailer now invites children around the country to become part of that story, with the launch of "Yes, Virginia, The Musical," the latest addition to Macy's ongoing "Believe" holiday campaign.
The online program available at yesvirginiamusical.com, gives schools access to a stage adaptation of the film, including scripts, scores, production reference materials as well as advice from the pros. Macy's will also give $1,000 grants to 100 schools to help out with their productions.
