Biggest advertisers: U.S.

The top 200 U.S. advertisers increased their spending on ad and marketing services by 2.5% in 2023, reaching a record $213 billion. Among the nation’s top 200 advertisers, 122 increased U.S. spending in 2023. Amazon led the marketers ranking for the fifth consecutive year.

The world’s 100 biggest advertisers increased ad spending 4.9% in 2023. Spending growth varied significantly by company, country and category. Among the top 100 advertisers, 68 increased spending. Amazon led the global ranking for the third consecutive year.

Organic growth for the five biggest legacy agency holding companies—WPP, Publicis, Omnicom, Interpublic and Dentsu—came in at an average of just 1.3% in 2023, down from 7.5% in 2022.
