Mojo Supermarket announces Death Wish Coffee win with an obituary Death Wish Coffee selected Mojo Supermarket as its creative agency of record following a competitive pitch. The Saratoga Springs, New York-based coffee company chose Mojo to honor its loyal fan base of “bold souls” while drawing in new consumers, according to Death Wish Coffee Chief Marketing Officer Samantha Siegal. The agency celebrated the win with an “obituary” for the RFP announcing that “Mojo Supermarket killed the creative” and that it was being laid to rest. The obituary said a celebration of will be held at Mojo headquarters in Brooklyn and requested that in lieu of flowers, readers “spit out your flavorless, soulless big brand coffee” in favor of a mug of Death Wish. Death Wish Coffee launched in 2012 direct-to-consumer and entered the retail market in 2022, landing national distribution. The first national brand campaign from Mojo is expected to launch in early fall. Jamison, who joined the agency in 2020, previously served as a creative director and was responsible for creative on ESPN and Google Photos. Before that, Jamison was a creative director at Fig. This marks an expansion of the creative department as Jamison joins a creative leadership team that includes another executive creative director Danielle Flagg, along with the agency’s founder Charles Hodges. Gallegos United promotes managing director Gallegos United named Jose Pablo Rodriguez its managing director and Rosa Cubas as head of strategy. Rodriquez joined Gallegos United 10 years ago and was most recently executive director, head of account management. He will now be charged with day-to-day operations and focusing on growth and creativity. James Kulp, a six-year veteran of Gallegos United, is being promoted to succeed Rodriguez. It was not immediately clear who Rodriguez and Cubas were succeeding or if these were new posts. The agency could not be reached by deadline. Cubas joins the agency from Gut, where she was social strategy director and worked on brands such as Popeye’s, Dell, Verizon, McDonald’s, Kraft Heinz, Google, Procter & Gamble, Mondelez and PepsiCo. The hires come on the heels of Pepe Aguilar joining the agency as executive creative director in October. Gallegos United’s clients include the California Milk Processor Board, Chick-fil-A, Comcast and DoorDash. MullenLowe hires a new head of strategy MullenLowe hired Kristina Jenkins as head of strategy for its Los Angeles office. She takes over for Mollie Partesotti, who was named the chief strategy of FCB Chicago last May. Jenkins intends to elevate brands “from talking about being culturally relevant to actually showing up like they are,” she said in a statement. Jenkins previously was chief strategy officer at Eleven. Prior to that, she was the head of strategy at Cashmere and the first chief strategy officer for Zambezi. Six+One to work on marketing for NYC's Hudson Square neighborhood New York City’s Hudson Square Business Improvement District selected Six+One as its branding and communications agency of record following an RFP that involved 12 agencies and three finalists, according to the agency. It’s unclear which other agencies were involved. The agency will help the not-for-profit organization position the Hudson Square neighborhood as a creative and technology hub. Some of Hudson Square BID’s ongoing projects include the redevelopment of various streets in the neighborhood, the creation of new open spaces such as Spring Street Park and Freeman Plazas East and West, as well as an urban forestry program. “This client is close to our hearts as we’ve been located in Hudson Square for nearly 10 years,” Six+One’s Founder and Chief Creative Officer Eric Rojas said in a statement. “We’re excited to help write the next chapter in the story of the neighborhood and make Hudson Square synonymous with creativity and innovation.” The partnership is a three-year contract with the option of two additional years. Just briefly Wunderman Thompson hired Rosie Bardales as chief creative officer of the agency’s flagship New York office, succeeding Jill Applebaum, who left. Bardales joins Wunderman Thompson from BETC, where she was chief creative officer of the London office and global executive creative director across teams in both London and Paris. San Francisco-based agency Butler, Shine, Stern and Partners appointed Lauren Trojan as its first new business development director. Trojan previously worked at various agencies including McKinney, CP+B, Vladimir Jones, Sterling-Rice Group and Fortnight Collective. New York City-based media agency Good Apple appointed Hyun Lee-Miller as its first chief media officer. Lee-Miller previously served as a VP of media at the agency.
