Creative reviews are ramping up in June, with a wide array of companies seeking new agencies as they march into the back half of 2024. WeWork worked with VaynerMedia on creative and media efforts as recently as September 2020. VaynerMedia, which became WeWork’s media agency in 2017, continues to work with the company on paid media, but stopped supporting creative efforts in 2021, according to an agency spokesperson. WeWork did not return multiple requests for comment. In 2018, WeWork built an internal creative team, Creative Studio, which developed a campaign (video below) highlighting the company’s offices as spacious and accommodating. WeWork spent $14 million on measured media in the U.S. in 2023, an increase from $8 million in 2022, according to Vivvix, which includes paid social data from Pathmatics. WeWork had its Chapter 11 bankruptcy plan approved in May, the final step in its operational and financial restructuring, the flex-office company said in a May press release. The company expects to emerge from bankruptcy in mid-June, more than nine months after it began its restructuring. WeWork will have roughly 600 locations globally. Häagen-Dazs Häagen-Dazs is reviewing its U.S. creative business, the ice cream brand confirmed. Cartwright, the incumbent on the account, is not defending the business. The review is expected to conclude soon, according to a source close to the situation. “Though our partnership with Häagen-Dazs has ended, we are proud of what we’ve accomplished together for the brand’s image through ‘Thät’s Däzs,’ elevating Häagen-Dazs beyond the realm of traditional luxury, making it synonymous with cool, contemporary indulgence,” Cartwright said in a statement to Ad Age. The ice cream brand spent $38 million in U.S. measured media last year, up from $33 million in 2022, according to Vivvix, which includes paid social data from Pathmatics. (General Mills, which sells Häagen-Dazs outside of North America, is also in the middle of a creative review.) Chamberlain Group Chamberlain Group, which owns garage door openers including Merlin, MyQ, Chamberlain and perhaps its best-known brand, LiftMaster, is reviewing its creative business, the company confirmed. AAR Partners is handling the pitch process. There is no incumbent on the account, according to a Chamberlain Group spokesperson. The company hired Droga5 as its agency of record in August 2022, tasking the shop with rebranding and recasting the perception of its business from a garage door company into a smart-access technology company. Chamberlain Group’s partnership with Droga5 concluded at the end of 2022, according to the company spokesperson. Droga5 wasn’t immediately available for comment. 40 under 40 entries are open The final deadline for nominations is Aug. 2 Enter here Chamberlain brand’s U.S. measured media spend was $5.4 million in 2023, up from $1.5 million the year prior, according to Vivvix, which includes paid social data from Pathmatics. Reynolds Consumer Products Reynolds Consumer Products, which owns brands such as Hefty trash bags and Reynolds Wrap, has issued an RFP for some smaller-scale creative projects, a company spokesperson confirmed. The company appointed Omnicom Group’s DDB Chicago and Hearts & Science as creative agency of record and media agency of record, respectively, in February 2022. “We currently leverage DDB for larger production projects and plan to continue,” the spokesperson added. DDB Chicago could not be reached for comment. It’s unclear if the company’s media business is also up for review. Check out the latest Ad Age events and award programs In 2023, Reynolds Consumer Products spent $75 million on measured media in the U.S., according to Vivvix, including paid social data from Pathmatics, up from $48 million in 2022. Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau, the official sales and marketing organization for Miami-Dade County, has launched RFPs for multiple aspects of its marketing business on its website. GMCVB is seeking a branding and advertising agency, a social media agency and PR agencies for the U.S. and Canada markets, as well as the organization’s “local lifestyle media” and corporate communications work. Proposals are due on Aug. 19. Agency selections are expected to be announced in January 2025. The RFP lists incumbent agencies for each account. VML is currently both the brand and social AOR for the organization. The WPP agency will be defending its accounts, a VML spokeswoman confirmed.
