If you couldn't get tickets to our Ad Age A-List & Creativity Awards gala on Monday April 15, there's always the American Marketing Association’s Hall of Fame induction at R/GA the following evening. A trio of the ad world’s power brokers are getting their due there: Keith Weed, chief marketing and communications officer for Unilever; Ann Lewnes, exec VP and chief marketing officer, Adobe; and Wendy Clark, global CEO at DDB Worldwide. The invite promises you can “rub shoulders with some of New York's most important marketers.” Beware chafing. Stagwell strikes again It’s not quite as headline-grabbing as taking an $100 million stake in MDC, but Mark Penn’s Stagwell Group is building its empire with the purchase of MultiView, a programmatic buying, targeting and publishing platform for b-to-b marketers and associations. According to Stagwell’s press release, programmatic b-to-b is growing at a 16 percent annual clip. Since Penn’s a former Microsoft exec, we’ll take his word for it. Rats! “Glee” star Jane Lynch plays a do-it-yourself pest control wannabe in a new push for Clark Pest Control from Nimmea Advertising and Hazy Mill Productions. The spot also features Matty Cardarople, from “Stranger Things,” in a role in which he looks a bit like the Incredible Hulk. Or maybe Shrek. The spot below breaks April 14 during the Masters Tournament, which will be handy in case those “Caddyshack” gophers turn up. More fore St. Louis’ Brighton Agency tees off its annual indoor golf tourney today. Every year the shop challenges nine teams to flex their creative muscles by building “holes” around the office that the agency then plays. Last year’s theme was its hometown city, which yielded holes modeled after the famed Arch, the Delmar Loop and more. This year, the theme is, well, holes. (Think donut hole, Whole Foods, holy guacamole.) Damn, now we’re hungry…. Food, glorious food Postmates is running an outdoor campaign in New York, Los Angeles and Miami with taglines like “Your sweatpants are calling and they want a burger” to “The best way to enjoy sushi is on a bed of bed,” which pretty much capture how our staff is feeling given the approaching the A-List print deadline. The creative is from new agency of record Mother, L.A. and media is fielded by Noble People. Bring in on Postmates, and yes we want fries with that. The name in Japanese means Optimism, and it’s breaking a new campaign from San Francisco’s Duncan Channon that has all the major ingredients for this column--shopping and dogs. (Oh yeah, Steph Curry, a brand ambassador for Rakuten, appears in another spot, but I don’t do sports.) Check it out below. Mike Baron moves group creative director to executive creative director at Partners & Napier, Rochester, N.Y., focused on the agency’s wellness practice.
