Valassis staff recently organized an Associate Appreciation Day on the first Friday of March, for which employees were greeted with treats for breakfast and a message of appreciation from the CEO. In keeping with the spirit of appreciation, June 9 was designated as Random Acts of Kindness Day for employees to show their appreciation for their co-workers, teammates and peers in any way they desired.

To further reward creativity, Valassis, named in the InformationWeek 500 list as one of the most innovative users of business technology, created an internal spirit campaign known as the "CelebrateUS" campaign to do just that . The CelebrateUS team organizes activities to celebrate a special occasion or reward exemplary work. There is also a downloadable Peer2Peer Recognition Award, which employees can use to provide co-workers with personal, real-time recognition.
