Team One is Publicis Groupe’s premium brand agency with clients including Lexus and Ritz-Carlton.
The agency has a no-email policy on weekends. Team One brings in entrepreneurs and business executives to talk about what it takes to start and run a company, dubbed Moonshot talks. Employees also can attend twice-weekly Ten Slide Talks to hear colleagues give a 20-minute talk on a topic of their choosing in 10 slides or less.
“Sometimes they are about work, or video games or the power of stretching,” said Julie Michael, CEO of Team One. “They are a great mental palate cleanser and give us a chance to hear and connect with employees who might be more introverted.”
Team One is part of the Marcus Graham Project, partners with the One School for a Creativity Bootcamp and works with the Best Buddies Jobs program to create a pipeline for diverse talent.
“People with all backgrounds and mindsets, from different geographies—that all matters,” Michael said. “Our work is better with diverse brains around the table.”
Team One has modern “employee of the year” awards called the Slash Awards to recognize those who go above and beyond. The winners get a custom silver rocket trophy and $5,000 to take an inspirational trip or experience and come back to tell the agency about it.
