Apple Intelligence: David Shane directs a pair of spots, created in-house by Apple for its Apple Intelligence AI features. Here’s why we found them lacking. AT&T: USWNT legend Mia Hamm stars in AT&T’s new campaign themed “This Is How We Soccer.” Carvana: Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard star in a comedic spot in which they try to navigate Carvana’s Value Tracker—a tool that helps you track your car’s value over time. Coors Light: In a game against New York Jets a little over a week ago, Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Russell Wilson was heard calling “Coors Light, Coors Light” at the line of scrimmage. Now, the beer brand has turned it into a campaign with agencies Droga5 and Rethink. DoorDash x NBA x WNBA: DoorDash has been busy, reupping as the official on-demand delivery platform partner of the NBA and WNBA. The brand also kicked off the NBA season by partnering with Kurtis Blow to reimagine the classic 1984 song “Basketball.” Shot by Dave Meyers and his daughter Cassidy, the music video features New York Knicks players Jalen Brunson and Josh Hart, along with WNBA legend Sue Bird. Brooklyn, New York rapper Lola Brooke joins Blow in a verse dedicated to WNBA stars. Greenfield Natural Meat Co.: The carbon-neutral meat brand and agency No Fixed Address launched a library of bacon sizzle sounds, recorded to sound like rain, available to audio houses around the world. The campaign follows a similar effort last week from KFC and sleep brand Hatch. Halloween 2024: Halloween is almost here, and as usual, brands are out in force. Laneige: BTS’s Jin flaunts his flawless skin and touts Laneige’s Cerapeptide toner and moisturizer as “Jin-ius” in Jung von Matt Hangang’s global spot for the Korean skincare brand. Las Jaras Wines x Rocco: Eric Wareheim and Joel Burt’s wine brand, Las Jaras, teamed up with Rocco, the smart fridge maker, to make a Las Jaras wine fridge. Wareheim and Burt star in a pair of spots (below) promoting it, including Wareheim belting out a truly bizarre song about his wish fulfillment. National Coalition Against Censorship: Ahead of the election, the NCAC brought together well-known storybook villains—from classics such as “Hansel & Gretel,” “Little Red Riding Hood,” “Jack and the Beanstalk” and “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs”—in a campaign about an evil greater than them: book banning. Innocean USA handled the creative. Netflix: The streamer launched a new brand campaign, themed “It’s So Good,” from Wieden+Kennedy Portland, showcasing fan banter around series such as “Stranger Things,” “Squid Game,” “Wednesday,” “Baby Reindeer” and “Formula 1: Drive to Survive.” The 60-second spot includes cameos from Simone Biles, Cardi B and Giancarlo Esposito. Rawlings: The sporting goods brand with roots dating to the 19th century is looking to the future with the launch of Combat, a direct-to-consumer baseball brand. “Built for Combat,” from agency The Alt League, features four top high school athletes demonstrating Combat’s bats. The campaign is meant to appeal to players deciding whether to continue to play in college or go pro, grounding the message in performance and swagger. Supercuts: The hair salon chain is launching a comic campaign that leans into negative sentiment around the brand in the market—and includes a kind of reverse coupon for people who feel better paying more for a haircut. Uber One: Uber launched its first campaign for Uber One for Students, starring Brian Cox of “Succession,” who arrives at college not for a degree but for the discounts on lattes and tacos on the quad. Special U.S. created the spots. Upwork: The freelance talent platform unveiled a new design system and visual identity from branding and design agency NOT Wieden+Kennedy. The concept is “A new dimension of work.” The visual identity is sleek, minimalist and purposefully designed to convey a sense of forward momentum and growth—through a typography and fluid grid system that allows endless permutations of shape and image.
