During the Sunday night series finale of long-running zombie drama “The Walking Dead,” a quintet of brands revived some of the show’s most beloved killed-off characters—albeit in their undead forms—for a string of five thematic but otherwise unrelated commercials.
The light-hearted spots, handled by Ryan Reynolds’ agency Maximum Effort and AMC Networks’ brand studio Content Room, brought back four names that fans are sure to remember from the show’s 11-season run: Milton, who gives a “DED Talk” for Autodesk; Rodney, whose severed head stumps for DoorDash; Gareth, who appears for video doorbell company Ring; and Andrea, who stars in ads for both Deloitte and ad tech platform Mntn (which owns Maximum Effort).
