Comcast named James Rooke as president of advertising, replacing Marcien Jenckes, who was recently selected to oversee the creation of Charter and Comcast's new streaming joint venture.
Rooke will now oversee Comcast's various ad tech operations, including AudienceXpress, Effectv and FreeWheel. Rooke previously served as general manager of Effectv, which he joined in January 2020. His primary focus there was multi-screen audience delivery, as well as further advancing addressable and programmatic advertising. Prior to his role at Effectv, Rooke led the global publisher business unit at Comcast’s ad platforms company FreeWheel.
