NBCUniversal President of Ad Sales Laura Molen to exit

Laura Molen, president of ad sales at NBCUniversal, has announced her departure from the media company after nearly 10 years. “These past few years have been full of enormous changes for all of us, both personally and professionally,” Molen wrote in an internal memo. “While I love NBCUniversal and this team, it is time for me to re-prioritize my focus, have more family time and fully explore my numerous passions. I’m particularly interested in utilizing my expertise to partner with others and help companies succeed, including taking on more Board advisory roles, like so many leaders I admire.”Molen is staying on as an advisor through the first quarter of 2023 “to ensure a smooth transition,” she wrote. Molen oversaw sales for NBCU’s cable networks and streamer Peacock and played a prominent role in building NBCU’s One Platform unified sales structure under Linda Yaccarino, the company’s chairman of advertising and partnerships. Check out the latest Ad Age events and award programs “Long before One Platform was created, Laura was uniting groups to help us function as one team and rolling out the Red Carpet for every partner,” wrote Yaccarino in another internal memo. “She’s pushed innovation forward, spearheading massive undertakings like introducing Peacock to the marketplace.” Reporting to Yaccarino alongside Molen are Mark Marshall, president of ad sales and client partnerships, and Krishan Bhatia, president of ad sales and chief business officer. Plans to replace Molen or restructure NBCU's sales teams among existing executives have not yet been announced. Molen was named one of Ad Age's Women to Watch in 2020. Prior to joining NBCU in February 2013, Molen held sales positions at Univision and Viacom.
