Every weekday, we bring you the Ad Age/iSpot Hot Spots, new and trending TV commercials tracked by iSpot.tv, a company that catalogs, tags and measures activity around TV ads in real time. The New Releases here ran on TV for the first time yesterday. The Most Engaging ads are showing sustained social heat, ranked by SpotShare scores reflecting the percent of digital activity associated with each one over the past week. See the methodology here.
Among the new releases, model Kendall Jenner sells Estee Lauder's Modern Muse fragrance to the tune of Patti LaBelle's "Lady Marmalade," and Sprint releases a spot featuring singer Prince Royce and a woman undergoing a lie detector test. Both are asked about their wireless carrier's iPhone upgrades. (Coincidentally, KFC also released a lie-detector-themed spot this week.)
And Apple releases a spot for its iPhone 6s, and this one isn't voiced by Sir Jony Ive. Instead, the stars of this video are Bill Hader, Selena Gomez and ordinary Joes who read news and take selfies with the new "peek and pop" technology.
