Every weekday, we bring you the Ad Age/iSpot Hot Spots, new and trending TV commercials tracked by iSpot.tv, a company that catalogs, tags and measures activity around TV ads in real time. The New Releases ran on TV for the first time yesterday. The Most Engaging ads are showing sustained social heat, according to SpotShare scores reflecting the percent of digital activity associated with each one over the past week. See the methodology here.
Among the new releases, an "American Idol"-specific ad plugs a "Meet the Idol" competition and the give-away of a 2014 Ford Fusion, while L'Oreal promotes its True Match make-up with longtime spokesmodel Freida Pinto, the Indian actress whose break-out role was in 2008's "Slumdog Millionaire." And Jos. A. Bank is back with yet another version of one of its signature sales -- this time a 'Buy 1 Suit, Get 2 Free' deal, which is exactly the sort of marketing that inspired a harsh, hilarious "Saturday Night Live" spoof last weekend that compared Jos. A. Bank suits to paper towels.
