Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy joins Saville, Wondros signs Henry Littlechild

Saville Productions has signed Academy Award and Emmy award-winning documentary filmmaker Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy for her first U.S. commercial and branded entertainment representation. Originally a journalist from Pakistan, she brings more than 15 years of experience as a filmmaker and has directed more than a dozen films. Most recently, she collaborated with Lebron James on the HBO Sports documentary "Student Athlete" to raise awareness about the exploitation of athletes in high-revenue collegiate sports. She won three news & documentary Emmy Awards and two Academy Awards for her films "A Girl in the River" and "Saving Face." Wondros has signed director Henry Littlechild to its roster. Littlechild started directing through London advertising agency Leagas Delaney before going into directing full-time at London's The Viral Factory where his work included a content series for Ford Ka, which was seen by more than 30 million people online. He has worked with agencies including AMV BBDO, Fallon, Leo Burnett, MullenLowe, Grey, Ogilvy, and TBWA, and his recent CGI project for Smyths toys with a young boy dressed as a princess received 10 million hits on YouTube. Los Angeles and Mexico-based branded entertainment production company Gloria added filmmaker and VFX specialist Alejandro Damiani to its roster. His commercial work includes a Cannes Lions-winning spot for Gandhi Bookstores as well as the pro-immigration-themed sci-fi short M.A.M.O.N (Monitor Against Mexicans Over Nationwide), which has gained more than nine million views. He is also currently involved in several other projects, including directing the Latino comedy feature-film "Upgraded for Fox." London production company Dog Eat Dog (DED) has signed director Jason Smith for U.K. representation. Previously represented by Pulse, Smith has worked with clients including Nike, Coca-Cola, Audi, Mitsubishi, EA, NFL, Under Armour, Mountain Dew, Sony, Gatorade and BMW. He was also commissioned by EA sports to develop and direct its video game 'Need for Speed,' and most recently he completed the feature documentary "Cross Country." Editorial house Jump has appointed Therese Hunsberger to join its L.A. office as executive producer. Hunsberger began her post-production career in 1992 at Filmcore Editorial and has since worked at Optimus and at Saatchi & Saatchi where she helped establish a new post department. She has worked on projects with agencies such as R/GA, 180LA, Garage/Team Mazda, R&R Partners, FCB and Wieden & Kennedy. German production companies Sehsucht and Liga 01 are joining forces under a single brand; Sehsucht. The partnership will see the studios combine around 80 employees across their studios in Berlin, Hamburg and Munich. The company's three owners and partners—Martin Woelke, Ole Peters and Pablo Bach—plan to use the merger to expand their production structure and offerings, including the development of virtual reality, augmented reality and mixed and extended reality.
