Back in the 2000s, Mars Wrigley brand Starburst debuted a bizarre ad featuring a slightly demented character named Little Lad, a man-boy in a pageboy and knickers who awkwardly danced as he sang about the candy brand’s Berries and Cream flavor. In recent months, he reemerged on TikTok as viral hit with nearly 2 billion fans sharing their own take on his song and dance. It wasn’t until last week that Starburst officially jumped back into the conversation with a new TikTok dance featuring the spot’s original actor, Jack Ferver, promising the return of the Berries and Cream flavor if enough people join him. Our eyes are peeled as to how much traction the idea will have since peak resurgence of the trend seemed to have happened in September.
Roblox continues to be a playground for brands, such as in this Halloween promotion with Chipotle that invited young gamers into a virtual version of its restaurant for its annual “Boorito” event. The experience let players dress up in branded avatars, and the first 30,000 users to visit each day of the promotion (from Oct. 28-Oct. 31) would score a code for a free burrito. Even more fun than the real world, there was also a virtual “Boorito Maze” in which players dodged monsters, collected ingredients and could win virtual items for their mini-mes.
Roblox was down for an extended period over the weekend — not great timing for Chipotle. On Oct. 29, Roblox announced the outage "was not related to any specific experiences or partnerships on the platform."
Coronavirus poses not just a threat to your lives, but also your manhood. That’s the point of this hilarious vaccine PSA. It features a group of concerned urologists warning men of the not-so-familiar downside to getting COVID-19 — it might put a damper on your “future boners.” The insight that led to the ad came from research showing that men who contracted the coronavirus were six times more likely to suffer from erectile dysfunction. Almost too appropriately, the agency behind the idea was Quality Meats.
Yesterday, the United Nations’ Climate Change Conference COP26 began in Glasgow, Scotland. Ahead of the event, the United Nations Development Programme, the UN agency dedicated to ensuring equity around the world, debuted its biggest ever campaign—fronted by a dinosaur that looks straight out of Jurassic Park. Voiced by Jack Black, Frankie, as the Dino's called, crashed a session of the UN General Assembly with a suggestion to world leaders: funneling billions of dollars toward subsidizing fossils fuels only helps to send humans hurtling toward extinction, so why not channel those funds to things that will truly improve lives, such as vaccinations or eradicating poverty.

Today marks the beginning of Dia De Los Muertos, which is celebrated in Mexico and other Latin American cultures to honor deceased loved ones. Doritos this year partakes in the holiday with this heart-tugging, Pixar-quality tale about a family who reunites with the spirit of their late brother and uncle, Alberto, at the altar they created for him at his grave. There, they joyfully discover that Alberto had found love after all — when they meet his partner Mario. The spot continues Doritos’ year-round celebration of Pride, previously seen in its ads for other holidays including Christmas and Mother’s Day.
