This installment of Ad Age’s “Creativity Top 5” series looks at the best TikTok videos posted by brands over the past few weeks, as the platform hurtles toward its latest U.S. ban deadline, April 5. In this month’s lineup: Jellycat’s stuffed animals perform an Irish jig, Calvin Klein strikes gold with its latest celebrity partnership and Duolingo holds an irreverent funeral service for its mascot. 5. Jellycat celebrates St. Patrick’s Day Jellycat, a stuffed animal brand beloved by Gen Z, has recently begun posting adorable animations of its plush toys on its TikTok channel, from a bear getting caught in the rain to a frog flipping pancakes. But the animation that’s garnered the most attention thus far is the video Jellycat uploaded to TikTok on St. Patrick’s Day in which a group of the stuffed toys perform an Irish step dance. Fittingly, several of the stuffed toys dancing in the video are Jellycat’s “Siofra Shamrock” character—though “Bartholomew Bear” and “Bashful Bunny” are also members of the dance troupe. Burberry features actor Son Sukku in its ‘London in Love’ series Burberry’s latest campaign, “It’s Always Burberry Weather: London in Love,” encompasses a series of short films inspired by British rom-coms and interviews with the cast members, who include actors such as Kate Winslet, Aimee Lou Wood and Son Sukku. The short film starring Sukku (below) has generated the most buzz of the bunch, with the short scene of the actor sitting in a cafe and picking at beans on toast on a rainy day amassing over 14.2 million views on TikTok. Several other videos from the series have captured TikTok’s attention, too, including an interview with Wood (who’s currently starring in the third season of “The White Lotus”) that has racked up 10.3 million views. @burberry It was a rainy day in London when you called. Bad Bunny models for Calvin Klein Move over, Jeremy Allen White—Bad Bunny is the newest Calvin Klein model with a sultry ad sweeping TikTok. The video of the rapper posing sensually in Calvin Klein boxer briefs amassed more than 22 million views in just over a week, along with hundreds of videos of TikTok users filming themselves (or their cats) reacting to Calvin Klein’s ad or journeying to the brand’s Bad Bunny billboard in New York. TikTok users have also added more than 20,000 comments to the video and shared it over 656,000 times. Duolingo’s owl mascot dies … temporarily Duolingo ignited a social media frenzy last month when it announced its internet-famous owl mascot, Duo, had suddenly died after being struck by a Cybertruck. While the brand later revealed Duo wasn’t actually dead, the video of the owl’s funeral quickly went viral on TikTok as users left comments mourning Duo (or reacting to the wildly inappropriate music Duolingo chose as the background track for the funeral) or shared the news of the owl’s passing with friends. The TikTok funeral service generated more than 66.2 million views, 7.5 million likes and nearly 120,000 comments. It was also shared over 1.5 million times—a massive and unprecedented number not only for videos from brands, but TikTok videos as a whole. Taco Bell unveils a new Baja Blast flavor Of all the new menu items Taco Bell unveiled at its “Live Más Live” event earlier this month, TikTok users were clearly the most excited about one announcement, in particular—a new Mountain Dew Baja Blast flavor that the restaurant chain is rolling out this summer. Taco Bell’s clip from its keynote debuting the new Baja Blast flavor rapidly amassed tens of millions of views (84.3 million, as of this writing), over 2 million likes and, like many of the TikTok videos on this list, a whopping 650,000 shares.
